Benin

Officially the Republic of Benin (French: République du Bénin) and formerly Dahomey, is a country in West Africa. It is bordered by Togo to the west, Nigeria to the east, and Burkina Faso and Niger to the north. A majority of the population live on its small southern coastline on the Bight of Benin, part of the Gulf of Guinea in the northernmost tropical portion of the Atlantic Ocean. The capital of Benin is Porto-Novo, but the seat of government is in Cotonou, the country's largest city and economic capital. Benin covers an area of 114,763 square kilometers and its population in 2015 was estimated to be approximately 10.88 million  Benin is a tropical, sub-Saharannation, highly dependent on agriculture, with substantial employment and income arising from subsistence farming.

MISSION AND VISION

Founded in 1970, the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences is an educational institution professionalized, development, research and development support. Its main tasks:

ensure diverse initial training to enable to provide educational facilities, development and agricultural research and agricultural para, rural development frameworks;
to provide post graduate training in Agricultural Sciences;
ensure continuous training whose objective is the development and / or retraining of cadres on the job in the fields of agricultural science and technology and related sciences;
designing, implementing and / or supporting research programs or agricultural production in relation to rural development policies in Benin and in the sub-region;
facilitate or ensure the publication of the results of the work of teachers and researchers;

L'Unité Universitaire à Cotonou (UUC), l'une des unités universitaire de l'UCAO, est un Etablissement d'Enseignement Supérieur et de Recherche dont la création a été autorisé par l'arrêté ministériel N° 067/MESRS/CAB/DC/SG/DPP/SP du 15 octobre 2002 en République du Bénin. Elle obtient le statut d'Organisation Internationale le 10 février 2009 suite à l'accord de siège signé entre le gouvernement béninois et l'UCAO.

L'Unité Universitaire de Cotonou (UCAO/UUC) est implantée dans le diocèse de Cotonou et  dispose de trois établissements de formation à savoir :

-          Faculté des Sciences de l'Agronomie et de l'Environnement (FSAE);

-          Ecole de Génie Electrique et Informatique (EGEI);

-          Ecole Supérieur de Management et d'Economie Appliquée (ESMEA).
